We are a Parent Staff Association known as YSGOL GYNRADD GYMRAEG ABERCYNON Parent Teacher Association, informally known as The YGG ABERCYNON PTA. Our purpose is to advance the education of pupils of YGG Abercynon.

Although we have many parent and staff volunteers that help us run our events and a great team of parent class representatives that help keep the parents and guardians of pupils updated.

To direct committee meetings

Hold the casting vote at meetings where there is a tied vote

Ordinary Committee Members
Vice Chair:​ To spread the responsibilities of the Chair
Assistant Treasurer: To help ensure that no financial decision or funds are unaccounted for
Communications Officer: To assist the Secretary
Raffles/Lotteries Officer: To identify prizes and sponsorships and coordinate ticket sales
Grants Officer: Researching and applying for fundraising opportunities

These are optional roles which can be beneficial if nominees have a specific skill
set or to help 'spread the load' if all other committee vacancies are filled
